Bug 3 of 3 · inspired by HATRIC, the trivia robot I’m building

“Everyone deserves a turn.”

A trivia robot is hosting three players. After 6 questions, Juniper has answered all 6 and nobody else has had a turn.

A robot behind a round table with three players: Juniper in seat 1 on the left, Ollie in seat 2 at the front, and Sam in seat 3 on the right. Before the fix the robot always looks at Juniper; after the fix it takes turns. QUESTION CARDS 1 · Juniper 2 · Ollie 3 · Sam

“Juniper, here’s question 6!” (again)“Sam, here’s question 6!”

Turns after 6 questions

  • 1 · Juniper62
  • 2 · Ollie02
  • 3 · Sam02

About this demo

What was the bug?

The robot’s rule ignored everything about the game and always returned seat 1. The fix looks at how many turns each player has had and picks whoever is furthest behind, so everyone gets an even share.

Honest label: a scripted simulation, not a live language model and not HATRIC’s real code. In HATRIC these decisions come from an LLM agent working with vision input.
